Rethinking LGBTQI+ lives and the law in the 21st century

‘Rethinking LGBTQI+ Lives and the Law in the 21st century’ will analyse the new ways in which LGBTQI+ citizens experience aspects of the contemporary legal system.

A panel of experts will discuss the expunging of gay men’s criminal records of offences that are no longer illegal, the police and reporting of hate crimes, mis-genderings and travel, and marriage. By exploring topics that demonstrate both positive change as well as ongoing marginalisation the discussion will help participants understand where the ‘sticking points’ are in our community practices.
