SSPS Diversity and Inclusion Seminar Series | Session 4 (Final) | Panel
In November, SSPS is holding a four-part “Diversity and Inclusion Seminar Series” every Tuesday at 12:00pm-1:00pm via Zoom (link below)
The Seminar Series is designed to showcase the great work around social inclusion diversity that is taking place in SSPS. There will be a short 30-minute presentation followed by questions. This is a brown-bag series so please feel free to eat! If there are any questions, please contact Diversity and Social Inclusion Coordinator, Chris Pepin-Neff at chris.pepin-neff@sydney.edu.au.
Seminar presenters: Beatriz Carrillo Garcia (SSPS), Vivianna Rodriguez Carreon (SSPS), Joel Dixon (Public Health), Nick Callaghan (ICT) and Monique McKenzie (SSPS)
In this session, the team will provide an overview of the findings and issues encountered through the organization and delivery process of a series of ‘Conversations that matter’ aimed at co-creating new understandings of Indigenous issues and at guiding the University on more inclusive ways of operating. Funded through the One Sydney Many People Strategy, these conversations explored diverse and challenging themes with a strong focus on culture, identity, engaged inquiry and mutual accountability. These conversations address the priority areas of Nguragaingun (Culture and Community) and Eora (staff and students) by seeking to engage as wide a range of stakeholders from across the University and in the community in a dialogue that is grounded in the safety of an open mind, open heart and open will.
