SSSWARM Seminar Series

Electronic Story Quilts

Speaker: Elizabeth Chin

Room 441, Social Sciences Building, A02 and Zoom

In this workshop, making, method and memory come together.  We will be experimenting with getting to know each other and finding connections, using simple quilting techniques (no sewing!) and images of your own.  Then we’ll add an electronic layer by using light-sensor activated recording modules.

Elizabeth Chin is an anthropologist with a varied practice that includes performative scholarship, experimental ethnography, sewing, and vernacular electronics.  She is currently editor-in-chief of American Anthropologist.
